Parks On The Air is a program designed to promote outdoor activities among amateur (or ham) radio enthusiasts. Basically there are folks who go out into parks (activators), and folks who look for activators, or hunters. National, State, and Provincial parks are listed all over the world.
I started going out to parks in September of 2022, and have made over 200 park “activations”, in which I make 10 or more contacts in the outing. Yes, there are times when I don’t get that many. Once in a while I’ll get skunked – no contacts at all.
